This gynaecological scan is available to women of child bearing age.
We will perform a detailed scan to look at the size, shape and condition
of the:
Uterus
Lining of the womb ( Endometrium )
Both Ovaries
Pelvic area
This ultrasound scan is performed for:
Evaluating the wellbeing of the uterus and ovaries before conception.
Estimating the time of ovulation and measuring the endometrial thickness
for assisted conception,
Measuring follicles *and endometrial thickness prior to IVF treatment. ( Follicle tracking scan)
*follicle tracking scan is a gynaecological survey which measures the size
of any active follicles and helps to predict when ovulation will occur.
You will usually need three follicle tracking scans performed in any one
menstrual cycle.
Best performed: Day 9 of menstrual cycle and repeated at 1-2 day
